Congratulations on your decision to enter one or more exhibits in the 4-H Fair! All entries accepted for judging will receive a ribbon, will receive a premium, and a few will earn a Champion Rosette.

Exhibitors are encouraged to study the 4-H Fair catalog carefully before the Fair to become familiar with general and department rules, judging and premiums, awards, how to enter exhibits, and the classes within departments. A copy of the 2008 Catalog will be distributed to each enrolled 4-Her or 4-H family and available without charge from the 4-H Office or at all Fairfax County Public Library branches and community centers beginning in June 2008. Copies of the 2007 catalog are available at the 4-H Office. Also, PDF versions of specific departments are available throughout the year. Please contact fairfax4h@yahoo.com to obtain a copy. The catalog will also be available at the Fair.

The Fairfax County 4-H Fair allows exhibitors to enter in several departments such as sewing, foods and nutrition, science and technology, etc. Inside these departments, there are classes. For example, inside the art department you would find an acrylics class and a watercolor class. You can only enter one project per class. However, if you have two projects that would fit inside the same class, don't worry! You can always enter one, or more, in the miscellaneous class. If this sounds confusing, don’t worry, because there are always people waiting to help you when you enter to help you decide which class your project fits into.

Stationery exhibits must be entered between 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2008 at the fairgrounds, Frying Pan Park, Herndon. For youth who are not 4-H members, or who have not been enrolled in 4-H for at least 60 days prior to the fair, open classes are available in all departments except Dog Show, Livestock, Rabbit and Horse. There are open classes for Fairfax County adults as well. Please consult the 2006 Fair catalog for more information.
